All of Dotty Rocks' products are 'handmade' unless otherwise stated. This means that they are often one-of-a-kind items making them more exclusive to you - you certainly won't see anyone else sporting the same creation.

However, some of the products are made in limited numbers (basically as many as my little hands can manage). In each product description you will see whether what you are looking at is one-of-a-kind or what number have been made in the batch!

Many people do not understand this. But I think handmade is best.

It gives you the customer a unique item that not many other people will have. You can be assured that every handmade item that Dotty Rocks sells has been thought about, designed and made with an amazing attention to detail and love.

Handmade items also provide an alternative to high street mass-produced products. And offer you, something a little bit different.

There have been some debates as to what 'handmade' actually includes - my definition includes the use of the following machines; computers, typewriters, cameras and of course the great invention the sewing machine! I use fabrics manufactured by others, paper made by others, cotton produced by others, glues created by others etc. - I think you catch my drift - to do everything myself would be a little crazy!

You may wonder that with my hands making all the items whether quality ever slips. Well I can assure you that I am a perfectionist. I will not sell anything that I don't believe is good enough! That includes fabric, neat seams, something that is properly glued etc - nothing that is going to fall apart through normal usage.

However, handmade items are unique in themselves and I will reproduce as best as I can but handmade items will always be slightly different to each other - thats the beauty of them!

Some of Dotty Rocks' products do use vintage fabrics and other finds, I can therefore not guarantee that these will be perfect but I can assure you that I wouldn't use anything that looked tatty. With these products I will list all condition details in the product description.

Well you may have guessed that I make everything myself! It is also safe to assume that I cannot work as quickly as a machine or factory production line would! This factor has to translate into the prices of Dotty Rocks' products.

Every Dotty Rocks product is priced based on the raw materials needed and the time needed to make the item.

This means that a similar product may be available on the high street for a lot less money, BUT there are probably 100's of thousands of them and a factory somewhere within this lovely world of ours will have produced it!
